Teresa Tomás

Teresa Tomás gives life to her sculptures through a merging of 3D computer virtual digital technology with a strong commitment to poetry. Her animations are completed with no previous plan and they can be considered hand-made videos, although created with computer tools. She works in the solitude of the studio, looking for the boundaries of expression and aesthetics in art.

Teresa Tomás transforma sus esculturas en seres a través de la virtualidad del 3D informático fusionando las técnicas digitales con un fuerte compromiso poético. Sus animaciones las ejecuta sin una planificación previa, son videos realizados artesanalmente aunque los realice con herramientas informáticas. Trabaja en la soledad del estudio, buscando los límites expresivos y estéticos del arte.

Wind_Viento

Wind is the animated sculpture that plays the main role in the second movement of the SON suite. Wind is a hybrid bird, a mix-breed of three musical instruments: saxophone, English flute and pan flute.

The movement evolves over three sculpture landscapes. "Wind" starts to walk through a desert garden amongst several musical instrument' cases that have a "Cactus" camouflage, and which are disposed around an orchestra pit. "Wind" takes off from this oasis and flies towards an aerial garden, which is made of "Tropes", that is floating plants made of musical notes and CDs, from which "Wind" will get the material he will use to build its nest. The tour ends in a musical town, which is made of the musical notes matrixes, where minima, crotchets, quavers and semi-quavers alternate; they are built in the form of "Nests". This metropole is the third landscape where a colony of sculptures of the "Wind" family is nesting. Mating takes place in one of these dwellings and an egg results, which is the proof od the species survival.

Viento es la escultura animada que protagoniza el segundo movimiento de la suite “Son”.

Viento es un pájaro híbrido, cruce de tres instrumentos musicales: saxofón, flauta dulce y flauta de pan.

El movimiento progresa sobre tres paisajes escultóricos. “Viento” comienza su paseo en un jardín desértico entre varios estuches de instrumentos musicales, camuflados en “Cactus” y dispuestos en formación de foso orquestal. Desde este oasis remonta el vuelo hacía un jardín aéreo formado por “Tropos”, plantas flotantes constituidas por notas musicales y discos digitales, de las cuales “Viento” extraerá el material necesario para construir su nido. El recorrido concluye en la ciudad musical formada por doce matrices de notas musicales, en el que se alternan negras, fusas, corcheas y semicorcheas, construidas a modo de “Nidos”. Esta metrópolis es el tercer paisaje donde anidan una colonia de esculturas de la familia “Viento” y es en una de estas moradas donde se aparea y pone un huevo, prueba de la supervivencia de la especie.
