Delanie Jenkins

Delanie Jenkins is an artist and professor who teaches sculpture at the University of Pittsburgh. She uses a variety of ordinary objects as source material for installations, sculptural objects, and images. Rooted in process, a poetic exploration of material is layered with associations of language, identity, and memory while often exploring life cycles, the line between obsession and contemplation, and the potential of hope to eliminate war. She has exhibited at the Mattress Factory in Pittsburgh, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art in Colorado, Snug Harbor Cultural Center in New York, Automatic Gallery in Chicago, the Art Academy of Cincinnati, and in 2007 she was named Pittsburgh’s Artist of the Year. Most recently she has completed a limited edition work as part of an International Print Portfolio organized by The Andy Warhol Museum.
