David Pohl

My work is a mashup. I try to make simple pictures (on the surface) imbued with subtle layers of complexity (to be scratched).

David Pohl is a Pittsburgh based illustrator, multimedia artist and arts educator. He is the founder of House of Pingting, an illustration and design company working with magazine and book publishers, institutional and advertising clients since 1991. His clients include The New York Times, Time Magazine, Simon & Schuster, The Globe and the Mail, The LA Times, Oprah Magazine and Harvard University.

David's work has been recognized by American Illustration, The Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, Graphis and Print. In 2011, his work was published in Picnic: New-Wave and Folklore in Contemporary Illustration and Lurzer's Archives: 200 Best Illustrators Worldwide.
